Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2022 counselling is expected to be held in the third week of October (Tentative for 2022). The KCET 2022 counselling will be held in 4 rounds by Karnataka Education Authority (KEA). The candidates will be allotted seats based on the merit list, institution and course preference. The candidates should consider their marks, merit list, seat availability in institutions, reservations while filling the preference list.

Steps of KCET 2022 Counselling

The candidates who qualified in the KCET 2022 can apply for counselling. The KCET 2022 counselling includes the following steps. It is mandatory to complete the counselling process for admission to colleges.

Step 1: Verification of documents and Registration

Qualified candidates should take the original documents to the specified centres for verification. After the verification of documents is done by the concerned authorities unique ID and password will be given to the candidates. The following documents should be taken for verification.

  • KCET Application Form printout
  • KCET Admit Card printout
  • Proof of application fee payment
  • Mark sheet of 10th std
  • Mark sheet of 12th std/2nd PUC
  • Two recent passport size photographs
  • Study Certificate signed by BEO/DDPI
  • All other required documents

Step 2: Institution and course preference filling and locking

After the document verification is done, candidates should visit the official website and enter the required credentials to open the page to update the course and institution preference. Before entering the course preference candidates should check the course wise, institution wise and category wise seat matrix released by the concerned authority on the official website. The candidates should select the college and course in the order of preferences. After filling the choices, candidates should lock the list of preferences.

Step 3: Seat allotment

After the candidates fill the preferred choices, the mock seat allotment list will be released on the official website. The mock seat allotment helps the candidates understand the chances of admission based on their rank and choice preference. The candidates will be allowed to make changes in their choices after the mock seat allotment. After that three rounds of counselling will be held. If the candidates are satisfied with the seat allotted to them, then they can take a printout of the provisional allotment letter to show it at the allotted institution.

Step 4: Reporting at the institutions

The next step is to report at the allotted institution. The candidates must produce the original documents, provisional allotment letter at the time of reporting. The candidates should pay the admission fee to confirm the seat.
