Question

A convex lens when placed in the first position forms a real image of an object on a fixed screen. The distance between the object and the screen is 75 cm. Solution

The correct option is B 503 cm
From the lens displacement method, we can write that,
f=D2x24D...(1)

where, f Focal length
D distance between screen,
x distance between the two position of lenses,

Substituting the data given in the question in equation (1), we have

f=(75)2(25)24×75

f=5000300

f=503 cm

Hence, option (b) is the correct answer.
