From the conservation of linear momentum

m1u1+m2(0)=m1(-v)+m2v

m1u1=v(m2-m1)(i)

Since, e=1=(Vsep/Vapp)=v-(-v)/u1=2v/u1

u1=2v(ii)

from (i)& (ii)

m1(2v)=v(m2-m1)
