Question

Question 4

Arrange the following lengths in their increasing magnitude:
1 metre, 1 centimetre, 1 kilometre, 1 millimetre

Open in App
Solution

The S.I unit of distance is metre. Each metre (m) is divided into 100 equal divisions, called centimetre (cm). Each centimetre has ten equal divisions, called millimetre (mm). For measuring large distances, kilometre (km) is used instead of metre.

So, 10 mm = 1 cm

100 cm = 1 m

1000 m = 1 km

So the correct order of increasing magnitude is 1 millimetre, 1 centimetre, 1 metre, 1 kilometre.
