Open in App
Solution

Sperm

  1. it is the male reproductive cell or gamete produced by organisms for sexual reproduction through fertilization.
  2. The human sperm also called spermatozoa has four distinct parts namely the head, neck, middle piece, and tail.
  3. In humans, millions of sperms are ejaculated in a nutritive fluid called semen.

Embryo

  1. An embryo is the first developmental stage in sexual reproduction.
  2. It is formed after the fusion of male and female gametes.
  3. The embryo undergoes extensive cell division and differentiation to form the adult.
  4. Defective or abnormal sperm can lead to abnormal embryos.
  5. During insemination, the sperm has to swim to the ova so structurally abnormal sperms have a disadvantage as they may lack proper motility.
  6. Abnormal sperm can also be the cause of low sperm count.
  7. If fertilization of the egg takes place with abnormal sperm, it may cause the irregular development of the embryo.
  8. So there is a negative relation between sperm health and embryonic development.
