Green revolution was introduced in India by Dr. M.S. Swaminathan to solve the crisis of increasing demand of food and shortage of supply. Strategies were devised and employed to increase the agricultural productivity. High yeilding variety (HYV) of seeds along with modern agricultural practices were employed.
