Metal chlorides are usually ionic solids and conduct electricity in aqueous solutions and molten state. This is because an aqueous solution of an ionic compound contains ions, which move towards the oppositely charged electrodes when electricity is passed through the solution. In the molten state, the electrostatic forces of attraction between the oppositely charged ions are overcome as a result of the heat, due to which, the ions move freely and conduct electricity.

Reactive metals such as Na, K and Ca react with hydrogen and produce NaH, KH and CaH2 respectively.


Hence, the correct answer is option (c).
