Metaphase stage of mitosis:
Metaphase is a stage in the cell division process.
Individual chromosomes cannot be observed in the nucleus of the cell.
The chromosomes condense and become distinct during the metaphase of mitosis, as they align in the middle i.e. at the equatorial plate of the dividing cell.
