Solution

The correct option is D 1.8 g
Pressure of CO2=25 atm
=2.5×1.013×1013Pa=2.533125×105Pa
KH=1.67×108Pa (given)
According to Henny's law,
P=(KH)(X)
X=P/KH=2.53×105/1.67×108=1.52×103
But,
We have 500 ml of soda water so that
Volume of water =500 ml
density of water =1g/ml
use formula mass = volume × density
500 ml water =500g of water
Molar mass of water (H2O)=18g mol1
Number of moles =massmolarmass
Number of mass of water =50018=27.78 mole of water
mole function, x=nCO2nCO2+nH2OnCO2nH2O
1.52×103=nCO227.78
nCO2=0.042 moles
molar mass of CO2=12+2(16)=44 g/mol
mass = (molar mass) (number of moles)
=(0.042)(44)
=1.8 grams
Quantity of CO2 is 1.8 grams
