How do vaccines work?

Vaccines contain weakened or dead microbial strains of any particular disease. When a vaccine is given to a body orally or through injection, it produces a specific cell or antibody against the pathogen. These cells which are called as antibodies actively protects from the pathogens for which the vaccine is given, throughout the life.
