How is the sensation of different colors produced in the eye?

Photoreceptor cells:

1. Photoreceptor cells come in two types: (I) rods and (II) cones.
2. These cells contain photopigments, which are light-sensitive proteins.
3. There are three different types of cones in the human eye, each of which has distinctive photopigments that react to red, green, and blue light.
4. Different combinations of these cones and their photopigments create the perception of varied colors.
5. White light is perceived when these cones are equally triggered.
