Step 1. Given data:

Increase in speed of the vehicle = 2ms

Final kinetic energy = 2×Initial kinetic energy

Step 2. Formula used:

Kinetic energy = 12mv2

Where m= mass, v = speed of the vehicle.

Step 3. Solution:

According to the question :

v=v+2

So kinetic energy according to this speed = 12mv+22=m2v2+4v+4……….1

Also, Final kinetic energy = 212mv2=mv2…………..2

Equating 1 and 2, we get

mv2=m2v2+4v+42v2=v2+4v+4v2-4v-4=0

Solving this quadratic equation and taking only positive root, we get

v=22+1ms
Hence the correct option is option C
