Solution

A) Immovable joints, also known as synarthrotic joints, are joints in the human body that do not move. There are three kinds of immovable joints: gomphosis, suture, and synchondrosis.
An example of a gomphosis in the human body is the joining of the root of a tooth with the mandible or jaw bone. The fibrous union between the tooth and the bone secures the tooth in its position.
B) The locomotion in fishes is due to their fins, body muscles and tail. The forelimbs and hindlimbs are modified as fins. Fishes have a streamlined, spindle shaped body which is covered with scales to adapt it for swimming.
C) Ribs are the long curved bones which form the rib cage. The rib cage has three important functions: protection, support and respiration. It encloses and protects the heart and lungs. It provides a strong framework onto which the muscles of the shoulder girdle, chest, upper abdomen and back can attach.
D) An exoskeleton is the external skeleton that supports and protects an animal's body. Examples of animals with exoskeletons include insects such as grasshoppers and cockroaches, and crustaceans such as crabs and lobsters. The shells of certain sponges and the various groups of shelled molluscs, including those of snails, clams, tusk shells, chitons and nautilus, are also exoskeletons.
E) An exoskeleton is the external skeleton that supports and protects an animal's body. Examples of animals with exoskeletons include insects such as grasshoppers and cockroaches.
Many species of cockroaches have wings, but not all are good flyers.
There are several species capable of flying short distances and a number of other species that use their wings to glide from high elevations to lower surfaces.
Hence, the correct match is A- 4 ; B- 1,7 ; C- 5 ; D- 2 ; E- 2,3.
