Name the methods employed in animal breeding. According to you which of the methods is best? Why?

(i) Inbreeding refers to the mating of more closely related individuals within the same breed for 4 - 6 generations.

(ii) Out-breeding refers to the breeding of the unrelated animals,

(a) of the same breed (but haVing no corrinton ancestors)

(b) or between different breeds (cross-breeding),

(c) or different species (Inter-specific hybridization).

(iii) Out-crossing is the practice of mating of animals within the same breed, but having no common ancestors on either side of their pedigree.Up to 4-6 generations.

(iv) Cross-breeding in this method, superior males. of 'one breed are mated with superior females of another breed.

(v) Interspecific hybridizatien In this method, male and female animals of two.different species are mated.

Out of these cross, breeding seems to be the best as it allows a combination of desirable superior traits of two.different breeds.
