Open in App
Solution

In desert plant, epidermis is made up of a thick waxy coating of cutin – a chemical substance with waterproof quality on its outer surface in order to avoid excess loss of water through transpiration due to excess heat. This is an adaptation to prevent loss of water as deserts have very less rainfall and desert plants need to conserve water.
