The correct option is C 40 s and 60 s
The
cytoplasmic chromosome of eucaryotes are 80 S. They occur inside the cytoplasm
of eukaryotes either freely or attached to ER. The ribosomes are large in size
with a length of (300-340 Angstrom) and breadth (200-240 Angstrom). The two subunits of 80S
ribosomes are 60S and 40S. A tunnel occurs between the two subunits for passage
of mRNA. The large subunit has a groove for pushing out the newly synthesized polypeptide.
80S ribosomes are synthesized inside the nucleolus. 80S ribosomes do not become
functional inside the nucleous. Their subunits come out of the nucleus and
become operational in cytoplasm. 40S subunit of 80S ribosome contains 33
protein molecules and a single 18S rRNA. 60S subunit has 40 protein molecules
and three types of rRNAs- 28S, 5.8S and 5S.
