• These are made of only one type of element.
• Examples are- Copper$\left(\mathrm{Cu}\right)$, Aluminium$\left(\mathrm{Al}\right)$, Gold$\left(\mathrm{Au}\right)$, etc.,

Characteristics of pure metal:

• Pure metals are weak and soft.
• They are good conductors of electricity and lustrous.
• They are ductile and malleable, they are a form of metallic oxides.
• They are made of only one type of atom.
• Their properties are determined by the arrangement of atoms.
