What are the diseases caused by mosquitoes?
Some diseases are spread through carrier organisms called vectors. The common vectors are insects like cockroaches, houseflies, mosquitoes, etc.
Diseases caused by mosquitoes are-
1. Dengue is transmitted by the bite of the Aedes mosquito.
2. African sleeping sickness is transmitted by the bite of the Tse-tse fly.
3. Yellow fever is also transmitted by the Aedes mosquito.
4. Filariasis is spread by the bite of the Culex mosquito.
5. Malaria is transmitted through the bite of the female Anopheles mosquito.
