  3. This method was first discovered by neurologist William Gowers.
  4. The Sahil's hemoglobinometer consists of a tube, stirrer, pipette and comparator.
  5. The basic principle related to this method is blood is added to N10Hydrochloric acid.
  6. The RBC carrying hemoglobin converted it to an acid hematin which is a dark-colored substance.
  7. This dark-colored substance is then diluted with water till it matches with comparator brown glass color.
  8. At last the concentration of hemoglobin is calculated and written in the form of percentage or gmdl
