What protects the spinal cord?

Spinal cord:

It is a long tubular structure that runs from the base of the skull to the lower back and is a part of the central nervous system.

Protection of the spinal cord:

1. Meninges is a series of membranes that cover both the brain and the spinal cord and the liquid between the membrane give protection and nourishment.
2. The vertebral column that is interconnected helps in bending and turning by keeping the spinal cord protected.
3. The cerebrospinal fluid protects the spinal cord by supplying nutrients.
