In 1192, the Ghurid army led by Muhammad Ghori and the Rajput confederacy led by Prithvi Raj Chauhan fought the second battle of Tarain. The Rajputs were defeated in the fight.
The defeat of Chauhans led to exposing north India to subsequent invasions and Turkic tribe dominance. This led to fall of the last Hindu empire in Delhi and marked the beginning of Islamic dominance in Northern part of India.
