Question

What would be the interaction force between two copper spheres each of mass 1 g, separated by distance 1 m, if the total electronic charge in them differed from the total charge of the nuclei by one percent.?

Open in App
Solution

Total number of atoms in 1 g of copper spheres = 163.54×6.023×1023

Total nuclear charge = 163.54×6.023×1023×1.6×1019×29

Now the charge on the sphere = Total nuclear charge - Total electron charge

(The total electronic charge in them differed from the total charge of the nuclei by one percent.)
=163.54×6.023×1023×1.6×1019×29×1100=4.398×102C

Force of interaction between two charged sphere

F=14πϵ0(4.398×102)212N

=9×109×19.348×104N

=1.74×1015N
