ADH (Antidiuretic Hormone) or vasopressin is secreted by the posterior pituitary. It is involved in facilitating water reabsorption from later parts of the tubule, hence preventing diuresis.
It regulates water excretion by increasing permeability of collecting duct for water and salt and by accelerating water and ion transfer determined by the osmotic gradient.
