RRB ALP Eligibility 2021- The RRB ALP eligibility criteria are set by the Railway Recruitment Board. It is mandatory for candidates to full fill in Assistant Loco Pilot recruitment eligibility in order to appear for the exam, otherwise, the candidature stands cancelled.

The RRB conducts the ALP Exam every year to recruit candidates into various posts under the Railway Ministry. This article gives detailed information on the ALP eligibility related to nationality, qualification, age limit.

ALP Eligibility Criteria

RRB ALP Eligibility- Based on Nationality

A candidate must be either:

  1. a citizen of India,
  2. A subject of Nepal,
  3. A subject of Bhutan,
  4. Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India,
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

RRB ALP Eligibility- Important Pointers:

  • A candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
  • A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination.
  • However, Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India has to be submitted during Document Verification failing which his/her candidature shall be rejected.

RRB ALP Age Limit

As per the RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria, the Assistant Loco Pilot age limit is 18 to 28 years.

Government Exam 2022

Medical Standards for the Post:

As per the RRB ALP Eligibility, candidates called for Document Verification (DV) will have to pass the requisite medical fitness test conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post/posts opted by them.

The medical verification details are given below:

Near Vision:

2. B-1 Physically fit in all respect Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D)

Near Vision:

Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required and Must pass the test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision, Mesopic Vision, etc.

3. B-2 Physically fit in all respect Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D).

Near Vision:

Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required and Must pass the test for Binocular Vision, etc.

4. C-1 Physically fit in all respect Distance Vision: 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses.

Near Vision:

Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.

Note-

  • Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery or any other surgical procedure to correct refractory error are not eligible for the post having Medical Standards A1, B1 and B2.
  • Candidates are advised to ensure that they are eligible as per the medical standards for the posts opted by them.
  • Those who are opting for RRB ALP Post should strictly adhere to the medical standard in terms of physical and visual fitness.

Candidates should keep the following things in mind related to the RRB ALP Eligibility:

  1. If a candidate is eligible for the relaxation of age on more than one ground, he/she would be accorded the highest of the age relaxations (not cumulative) for which he/she is eligible.
  2. No age relaxation is allowed to SC/ST/OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates applying against unreserved RRB vacancies.
  3. PWD candidates applying against UR vacancies will be allowed age relaxation applicable for UR PWD only.
  4. Candidates should note that the date of birth filled in this application should be the same as recorded in the Matriculation /SSLC or an equivalent certificate. No subsequent request for its change will be considered.
  5. Candidates should have the Educational/Technical qualifications indicated for notified posts from recognized Institute/University as on the closing date for submission of the Online application.
