Solution

Let the total amount of mixture of NaCl and NaI.
taken initially was xgm. out of which amount of NaCl was y gm.
So,
Amount of NaI in the initial mixture was (xy) gm.
2NaCl+H2SO4Na2SO4+HCl2NaI+H2SO4Na2SO4+HI
Amount of reacting psychometric.
NaClNa2SO4NaINa2SO4117142300142y142×y117xy142(xy)300
at equilibrium,
142×y117+142(xy)300=x14200y+553x55384=11708662y=6162x(yx)×100=(61628662)×100=71.14
This is the percrnt of NaCl present in the mixture.
Therefore, percent of NaI present in the original mixture was
10071.14
=23.86
