When a body is projected up, suppose it crosses a point P at time t1 in its upward journey. The body will cross the same point P at time t2 in its downward journey.
Now the equation of trajectory is,
h=ut12gt2
Rearranging we get, 12gt2ut+h=0
These two values of 't' give the value of t1 and t2
sum of the roots = ba=ug2=2ug
So, t1+t2=2ug
