Let the initial velocity of car be u.
Time of flight, t=2uyg=2
where uy= component of velocity in vertical direction
Distance travelled by car xc=u×2+12×1×22=2u+2
Distance travelled by ball xb=u×2 (Since it has no acceleration in x-direction)
xcxb=2u+22u=2 m
