Car covers a distance s before coming to rest using relation as v2=u2+2as
s=20×204×2=50 m
To avoid the clash the remaining distance 10050=50 m must be covered by the car with uniform velocity 20 m/s during the reaction time Δt
Hence, 50Δt=20 or Δt=5020=2.5 sec
