The correct option is B 10 m/s
Initial momentum of the cart,

Pi=mu=50×12=600 kg-m/s

Now, after gently putting the mass of 10 kg into the cart, let the speed of the cart be v.

Final momentum of the cart,

Pf=Mv=(50+10)×v=60v kg-m/s

Since, there is no external force, its momentum is conserved.

Pi=Pf

600=60v

v=10 m/s
