Me is mass of the earth

Also, we know that

Centripetal force on satellite = Gravitational force between satellite and earth

mv02r=GMemr2 where, r is distance between earth and satellite and m is mass of the satellite.

Step 2: Finding the increase in the velocity

Substituting equation 2 in 1.

ve=2v0ve=1.414v0vev0=1.414
