Solution

A particle has position vector ( 3î - ĵ + 2k̂) metre at t = 0. It moves with constant velocity v̂ = (-î + ĵ - 3k̂) m/s. The position vector after 3s is:

in 3 seconds since it is constant velocity and distance = speed x time, ( 3î - ĵ + 2k̂) + 3v̂ will be the position vector

= ( 3î - ĵ + 2k̂) + 3(-î + ĵ - 3k̂) = (3-3)î + (-1+3)ĵ + (2-9)k̂

= 0î + 2ĵ - 7k̂
