Considering eastwards as positive xaxis and northwards as positive yaxis, we can write the velocities as per the question as initial velocity of the particle vi=5^i and the final velocity of the particle vf=5^j
So, average acceleration is given as
aav=vfvit=5^j5^i10=12(^j^i)
or, |aav|=12 m/s2 North-West.
