Sexual reproduction:

  1. It is the process that involves the fusion of a male and a female gamete to form zygote.
  2. Since in sexual reproduction, both the parents provide half of their genetic material to the offspring, therefore the offspring shows the traits of both the parents instead of possessing the genetic material similar to only one of them.
  3. Therefore, because of the contribution of both the parents in the genetic material of the offspring, the offspring does not resemble any one of the parent genetically.
