(b) Find the distance of the image from the object.
(c) What is the focal length of the mirror?

Solution

(a) As magnification is negative, the image formed is real.
Hence, it is a concave mirror.
(b) $m = - \frac{v}{u} = - 1$
$∴ u = v = - 50 c m$
Distance of the image from the object $= | u | + | v | = 100 c m$
(c) By using mirror formula :
$\frac{1}{f} = \frac{1}{v} + \frac{1}{u} = \frac{1}{(- 50)} + \frac{1}{(- 50)} = - \frac{1}{25}$
$∴ f = - 25 c m$
(d)
