Solution

Step 1, Given data

As the train starts from rest, the initial velocity of the train, say, vi=0

Time = 5 sec

Acceleration = 5 m/s2

Step 2, Finding the velocity

Let the velocity of train be v in 5 s

From the equation of motion

We know,

v=u+at

Putting all the values

v=0+5×5

After solving

v = 25 m/s

Hence the final velocity of the train is 25 m/s

The correct option is (A) 25 m/s
