Step 1: Given

Direction of vector A is along +z axis (upward) A=a^k

Direction of vector B is towards north(+yaxis) B=b^j

Taking cross product of the vectors

Now A×B=a^k×b^j=ab(^i)

As we know that the cross product of the two vectors is always perpendicular to the both of the vectors.

Hence the direction of A×B is along west.
