Plant breeding is the method used for the mating of the plants and production of superior characters in the hybrid. The parent plants are selected for the hybridization experiment by observing the superior characters by breeding them for many generations and creating a pure line breed. The hybrid which is produced are also tested by cultivating them for generations in order to observe that the characters are inherited in every generation. These hybrid are superior to both the parents. This is termed as hybrid vigour.
