Solution

Eichler's Plant Kingdom:

  1. The Plantae kingdom covers plant species. They are eukaryotic and multicellular. The presence of a cell wall is a distinct feature, unlike animals.
  2. Cryptogamae and Phanerogamae are two sub-kingdoms of the kingdom Plantae, as classified by Eichler.
  3. Cryptogamae is a plant without flowers & seeds.
  4. They reproduce by spores. Example- mosses and ferns.
  5. Not all Cryptogamae are considered a part of the Plantae kingdom (Example- Fungi, now a separate kingdom).
  6. Phanerogamae is a plant with flowers & seeds.
  7. Plants like corn, potatoes, and coconut belonged to Phanerogamae.
