Distance between the two objects (R) = 0.4 m.

The universal gravitational constant G = 6.7 x 10-11 Nm2 kg-2.

Required to find:

The value of gravitational force (F) between the two objects.

Solution:

The magnitude of the gravitational force of attraction between two bodies is given by F=Gm1m2(R)2.

By substituting the given values in the above equation, F=(6.7x10-11)x(40)x(40)(0.4)2=10,720x10-110.16=67,000x10-11=6.7x10-7N

Hence, the value of the gravitational force between the two objects is 6.7x10-7N
