  3. The presence of a protein called Rh factor and A and B antigens determines the ABO blood group.
  4. The four major blood types are types A, B, O, and AB.
  5. Usually, the blood group remains the same throughout the lifetime. But, in some cases, the blood group can change.
  6. Due to some unusual conditions, like autoimmune diseases and bone marrow transplantations, the blood groups can change.
  7. Some major infections and cancer can also cause blood group changes.
