Question

Can plants talk to humans?

Open in App
Solution

Plants

  1. Plants are photosynthetic organisms that are capable of manufacturing their own food in the presence of sunlight due to the presence of chlorophyll.
  2. Plants do not have brains or any vocal associated organs so they cannot 'speak' or 'talk' to humans or any other animals.
  3. However, they can communicate with other plants using chemical signals including various volatile organic compounds.
  4. They can also respond to the environment like in phototropism and external stimuli such as in Mimosa pudica.
