Question

Check the commutative property of addition for 813,2327

Open in App
Solution

We know that the commutative property of Addition states that changing the order of addends does not change the sum. i.e., if a and b are two real numbers, then a+b=b+a.

Let a=813 andb=2327.

Let us first find a+b as follows:

a+b=813+2327=8×2713×27+23×1327×13=216351+299351=83351........(1)

Now, we find b+a as follows:

b+a=2327+(813)=23×1327×138×2713×27=299351216351=83351.......(2)

Since equation (1) is equal to equation (2),

a+b=b+a i.e.

813+2327=2327+813

Hence, the given numbers 813 and 2327 satisfies the commutative property of addition.
