Solution
Gene:
The hereditary unit of an organism is called a gene.
Genes are passed on from the parents to their offspring.
The gene variants are called alleles.
Genetic flow:
The gene migration into or out of a population is called genetic flow or gene flow.
Genetic flow may introduce a new gene into a population.
The gene pool of a population alters by the genetic flow.
Genetic drift:
The alteration in the allele frequency over a generation is called genetic drift.
Genetic drift causes include immigration or emigration of species in a population.
The new population created by genetic drift may be genetically distinct from the original population.
