Difference between codon and anticodon.
Difference between codon and anti codon:
Codon | Anti codon |
1. Codon is complementary to a triplet of the template strand. | 1. It is complementary to a codon. |
2. Codon consists of a sequence of three Nitrogen bases mRNA and DNA. | 2. It consists of three nitrogen basis in tRNA, complementary to the mRNA codon. |
3. It determines the sequence of amino acids in a polypeptide | 3. It brings amino acids to their proper position during translation |
4. 5' to 3' direction is for codon. | 4. 3' to 5' direction is for anticodon |
