Differentiate between plant tissues and animal tissues.

Plant tissue is divided into 4 parts:

  1. Dermal
  2. Ground
  3. Vascular
  4. Meristematic

Animal tissue is also divided into 4 parts:

  1. Epithelial
  2. Connective
  3. Muscle
  4. Nervous
Animal tissue has more living cells(to provide for the the high energy requirements)while plants have more dead cells(providing for mechanical support which is of a higher priority in plants).

Growth is confined to certain areas. Growth is not limited to areas.
Many of the tissues are dead.eg.cork Many of the tissues are living tissues.
Tissue organisation is targeted towards stationary habit of plants. Tissue organisation is targeted towards mobility of animals.
Plants grow continuously throughout life. After reaching maturity stage animals do not show further growth.
