Structure of cyclohexane:

  1. Cyclohexane is actually a cycloalkane with the molecular formula as: C6H12.
  2. In the structural formula of cyclohexane there are 16 single bonds present in total.
  3. And the most stable conformation of cyclohexane is chair conformation.
  4. So, there are two orientations of Carbon-Hydrogen in the chair conformation of cyclohexane.
  5. Six bonds are actually parallel to a vertical axis passing through the centre of the ring and are called the axial bonds.
