Solution

Plasmogamy is a phase of sexual reproduction in fungi. During this phase, there is a fusion of protoplasm of two-parent cells and is carried on without the fusion of nuclei. It results in the formation of dikaryon, i.e two nuclei per cell.

Dikaryon is followed by karyogamy.
