Solution
Blood :
Blood is a fluid connective tissue that flows in a network of tubes known as blood vessels.
There are four components of blood.
RBC (red blood cells),
WBC (white blood cells),
Platelets (thrombocytes) and
Plasma.
Functions of Blood :
WBCs present in the blood helps to fight against germs that enter our blood.
RBCs are the cellular component of blood that has a red coloured pigment known as haemoglobin.
Haemoglobin binds with oxygen and helps to transport it to various parts of the body.
Platelets are present in the blood which helps to make a blood clot at the site of a wound to reduce excessive blood loss.
Blood helps to transport essential things that are vital for each and every cell of the body.
Blood acts as a medium for these substances ( e.g. glucose, oxygen, carbon dioxide etc.).
