In presence of oxygen, glucose break into carbon dioxide and water.
This type of respiration is called aerobic respiration.
In this type of respiration more energy is released
Glucose + Oxygen → Carbon dioxide + Water + Energy
(ii) in absence of oxygen
In absence of oxygen, glucose break into lactic acid in muscle and into ethyl alcohol in yeast .
This type of respiration is called anaerobic respiration.
In this type of respiration less energy is released
Glucose → Alcohol + Carbon dioxide + Energy (in yeast)
Glucose → Lactic acid + Energy (in muscle)
