Velocity should be halved


Let the initial mass m1=m, velocity=v1

Final mass m2=4m, velocity=v2

Since the kinetic energy is same in both cases,

12m1v21=12m2v22

12mv2=124m×v22

v22=14v2

v2=12v

So in order to make the kinetic energy constant, the velocity of the body should be halved if mass is increased by four times .
